Carnival Project Feb. 19, 2020

Abbotsford Virtual School’s Cardboard Carnival Project!

12:30-2:00 on Wednesday, February 19, 2020

We are making cardboard carnival games in grade 3-5.  We invite families and other grades to make their own games for our AVS Cardboard Carnival in February.

Take a cardboard box and design a carnival game!  Make sure your game has a space to give out tickets because we are also setting up a prize table!  Every game at the carnival needs to allow the players to receive 1,2,3,4 or 5 tickets based on how well the player did.  Games can be strategy or chance.

Goal of this event:    To learn all about simple machines using games that students and families have designed out of cardboard and other post purchase products.

1. Creativity and originality of concepts

2. Design and design plan

3. Structure stability

4. Use of cardboard as primary material and other post purchase products

AVS will supply tokens for playing the games, tickets for handing out for prizes, and tables if your game requires one.  We will also supply the prizes of candy and toys.

If families want to clear out their toy closets, we are accepting donations!  Please bring them by February 12 to Mrs. Griffith’s classroom (room 108)

   1. Must be transportable.

   2. Must fit through standard doorway easily.

   3.  Recommended dimension limits 2 meter (height) and 1 meter (width & length).

At the end of the Carnival, you can take your game home again, or leave it to be recycled.  All games left at the school will be recycled!

Or just come and play the games we have designed!

Location: AVS Room 108
